Dodge Ridge Ski Resort
Dodge Ridge is a 600-acre multi-sport mountain that offers snow boarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Dodge Ridge has one of the best teaching programs in the U.S, according to SKI magazine, and an annual snowfall of 400 inches. The newly-constructed Canyon Quad will carry skiers and riders into Boulder Creek Canyon and 265 acres of exciting new terrain this winter, making Dodge Ridge competitive with Lake Tahoe resorts. The new terrain is best suited for upper intermediate, advanced and expert skiers and snow boarders. With 18 new trails in Boulder Creek Canyon and elsewhere on the mountain, Dodge Ridge will offer 60 trails, served by 12 lifts, including a new quad, two triples, five doubles and four surface lifts. The Oakdale Rodeo
Since 1954, the Oakdale Rodeo has been the first outdoor rodeo in the Western United States held rain or shine. Oakdale earned the title; Cowboy Capital of the World; because of the number of successful Professional Rodeo Association cowboys who lived here. Today, the contestants, which have grown in number to over 400 and now include girl barrel racers, are often professional athletes instead of the ranch-born and bred contestants of the earlier days. Over the years, as the winner's purse has increased, so has the pride of the Oakdale Saddle Club, as it presents this superior exhibition. Share in the festivities of the Oakdale Rodeo every year on the 2nd weekend of April.

Oakdale Chocolate Festival
Oakdale is fortunate to be the site of Hershey's Chocolate and Confectionery Corporation plant, where America's favorite treats are made. In celebration, the Oakdale Chocolate Festival was born in 1992, and continues every year on the 3rd weekend in May, at Wood Park, at the junction of Hwy 120 and 108, from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. The festivities include music, entertainment, over 100 arts and craft booths, and more than 30 assorted food booths all offering at least one item of chocolate. But the main event is Chocolate Avenue, where vendors show their cakes, cookies, ice cream, fudge, toffee, truffles, cheesecakes, chocolate shakes, and candies. This is the place to try free samples and buy confections of all kinds. Also offered in the Chocolate festival are a Kids Land, filled with entertaining rides and games, a Classic Car show, a Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament, and a Fun Run. Admission to the Festival is only $4 for adults, $3 for Seniors, and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Rivers and Watersports
Water recreation abounds in our area. Woodward Reservoir, just north of Oakdale, has 3,200 land acres and 2,800 acres of water. It is a favorite of swimmers, fishermen, sail boaters and water skiers. It has many grassy spots in the campgrounds and picnic area. Marino Ranchers offers a Western Theme Park for family fun. The Woodward Marina provides groceries and boat rentals as well as bait and tackle. There are great boat launching ramps and an abundance of plant and animal life. Call (209) 847-2139. Oakdale Museum
Built in 1869 in the Italianette Victorian House, the Oakdale Museum contains old kitchens, bathrooms, and many items from the past.
